Antonie

Antonie is a gender-neutral name that can be traced all the way back to the Etruscan language. But it’s one prominent Roman family, to which the founding emperor of Rome belonged to, that can be credited with its popularity. Its meaning, “highly praiseworthy,” only served to add to its rising status. Antonie Leeuwenhoek, “the father of microbiology,” also deserves to be in the limelight that the moniker casts.
